Power Grid Conferred with Global Gold Award for CSR Activities

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), a Maharatna CPSU of Ministry of Power, has been honoured with Global Gold Award by The Green Organisation for its CSR initiative. The recognition was given at the Green World Awards 2023 function held at Miami in the USA.

This project, which will focus on farmers for 60 months, was launched in late October 2019.

State Bank Of India Raises $750 Million Via Bonds

State Bank Of India concluded the issue of $750 million senior unsecured fixed rate notes having maturity of 5 years and coupon of 4.875% payable semiannually under Regulation-S.

Earlier this month, the bank's board had approved a proposal to raise $2 billion (about Rs 16,000 crore) from bonds to fund its global operations.

Godrej Consumer Products inks pact to buy Raymond Consumer Care's FMCG business for Rs 2,825 crore

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. is going to acquire the fast moving consumer goods business from the diversified group Raymond Ltd., which includes Park Avenue and KamaSutra brands.

Raymond has two fundamental businesses lifestyle and real estate. Its revenue from FY22 was Rs 4,260.66 crore.

Godrej Consumer Products had earlier acquired Bblunt.

Asian Games gold medallist boxer Kaur Singh passes away

Heavyweight boxer Kaur Singh, the lone home boxer to land a gold medal in the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games and who was also known for his exhibition bout with the legendary Muhammad Ali in 1980, passed away.

Kaur Singh was the first from the Sikh Regiment to get the Arjuna Award and Padma Shri. He also competed in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

Vodafone Appoints Finance Chief Margherita Della Valle As CEO

Vodafone Group Plc appointed Margherita Della Valle as its chief executive officer.

Della Valle, who was the company’s chief financial officer, had been leading the company on an interim basis. She’ll continue in her role as CFO until a replacement is found, Newbury, England-based Vodafone said.

Della Valle’s predecessor Nick Read had also been CFO.
