RBI Governor-headed FSDC sub-committee reviews economic situation

Paytm Payments Bank leads UPI beneficiary chart; SBI biggest remitter in December

Paytm Payments Bank has emerged as the biggest receiver of UPI amount with 926.17 million transactions while public sector bank SBI topped the chart of being the biggest remitter in December, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). State Bank of India followed PPBL as the second-largest beneficiary with 664.89 million transactions.

Govt Launches Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar to Award Schools for Cleanliness, COVID Preparedness

Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar has launched the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) 2021 – 2022. The SVP 2021-22 is open to all categories of schools i.e. government, government aided and private schools in both rural and urban areas.The schools can apply till March 2022 to apply for the awards. Schools will be awarded at the district, state and national level.

India successfully test fires sea-to-sea variant of BrahMos Cruise Missile

The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully test-fired the BrahMos supersonic cruise.

The missile was launched from the Indian Navy destroyer INS Vishakhapatnam off the Western coast.

The sea to sea variant of the missile was test fired at the maximum range and hit the target ship with pinpoint accuracy.

UP govt declares 4 villages near Nepal border as revenue villages

The Uttar Pradesh government declared four villages located near the Nepal border in the district as revenue villages.

These four villages are Bhavanipur, Tedhia, Dhakia and Bichhia located in Mihinpurwa tehsil of the district. All these villages are Vantangiya villages.The Vantangiya' community comprises people brought from Myanmar during the colonial rule to plant trees.

India's oldest sloth bear Gulabo dies at Bhopal's Van Vihar national park

India's oldest sloth bear, fondly named Gulabo, died at the age of 40 at the Van Vihar National Park and Zoo in Bhopal.The female sloth bear, who was rescued from a Madaari or street performer in May 2006 at the age of 25 years.

Gulabo was one of the star attractions in the park.

She was the oldest sloth bear of the country, it added.
